Mandatory Auto Insurance in Illinois

According to IL Secretary of State Jesse White's website, www.cyberdriveillinois.com, Illinois' mandatory auto insurance laws are a significant consumer protective act.  You are in compliance of the law if you have insurance coverage of $20,000 for injury or death of one person in an accident, $40,000 for injury or death of more than one person in an accident and $15,000 for the damage of another person's property (20/40).  State minimum coverage in Illinois is different than the state minimum coverage than in Indiana, but it seems that 25/50 is the most common state minimum limit nationwide.  Your local independent insurance agent can help you stay compliant no matter where you live.
